Who saw Ballie make her return on their CES bingo card?
Samsung is an expansive corporation, so naturally its press conference will focus on an
issue relevant to all areas of life - AI being one such issue. Their presser was entitled,
"AI for All: Connectivity in an Age of AI", thus managing to double down on this term
twice!
What to Expect
Jong-Hee Han will lead this event as Vice Chairman, CEO and Head of Samsung's DX
(Device Experience) Division. In terms of specifics for their presentation at this event,
Samsung have kept relatively mum about them but relied heavily on an overarching
theme of AI for all instead. Perhaps we'll get more details regarding Gauss, their
forthcoming chatbot capable of writing emails, writing code as well as upscaling low
resolution images - something Samsung have been promising all along!
According to The Korea Times, Gauss will soon make its debut in forthcoming Galaxy
S24 devices and would make an ideal appearance at CES 2024 as soon as they hit
stores - expected mid-January for this product line!
Samsung is best known as a hardware maker, so it would be odd for it to focus the
entirety of its keynote on artificial intelligence (AI). Last year's press conference found
them unveiling everything from smart ovens with interior cameras and MicroLED and 8K
televisions - but we won't have much longer to wait before our attention is drawn back
toward them!
What Samsung announced
Are You Missing Samsung at CES 2019 In case you missed Samsung's
announcements during its CES news conference live, here is an abbreviated version.
Samsung unveiled an amazing transparent MicroLED screen - truly breathtaking - while
surprising us by unveiling their Ballie robot replete with built-in projector and other
changes compared to last time (we also got hands-on time with them!). As far as
hardware goes - new TVs, projectors, an HDMI 2.1 soundbar that pairs nicely with their
Frame TVs as well as smart monitors without PC connections that allow people to use
television as smart home hubs!
At this year's show, we've seen close up look of Ballie. Engadget Deputy Editor Nathan
Ingraham found him adorable but conceded it does little for its owners.
