What to Expect at Samsung Unpacked 2024 and Galaxy S24 Launch

Samsung Unpacked will start up again at 1 PM ET on January 17 to unveil this year's flagship Galaxy phones, starting with Galaxy S24 being unveiled for sale at that momentous time.

Now that CES 2024 has come and gone, tech world can finally relax... but wait: there's still the small matter of Samsung Unpacked coming up on January 17 at 1 PM ET - except if there's some surprise announcement to make on that front! Samsung Unpacked will likely unveil Galaxy S24 smartphones.

As is usually the case, speculation surrounding Samsung's Galaxy S24 lineup has been building for some time now. Thanks to leaker Evan Blass claiming a comprehensive spec sheet on all three phones (S24+ Ultra and S24), we now have an idea what Samsung plans on offering through these handsets. And as is also typically done each year, their website now also hosts a "reserve" page so those interested can secure one when available!

Hardware changes for 2019 will most likely take an incremental approach, with most components getting upgrades, faster performance, and an evolution from past handsets - such as with the Galaxy S24 Ultra having an ultra flat display and titanium frame slated. However, you shouldn't anticipate experiencing anything dramatic visually with regards to design when switching handsets regularly - with only exceptions being the S24 Ultra that may feature such revolutionary design elements as flat displays with titanium frames!

Samsung will likely incorporate Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset as part of their engine upgrade; Qualcomm is known to support AI operations with their CPUs while Samsung recently debuted work in this area.

At Samsung's annual Unpacked event earlier this year, AI features were touted as one of the major innovations to its Galaxy lineup this year. Samsung unveiled their own generative AI models which can perform tasks such as translations, summarization documents and emails as well as draft emails directly in response to text prompts; pluscreating images based on text prompts!

Samsung's Gauss Generative AI tech will likely debut as Galaxy AI on its Galaxy S24 smartphones, according to reports. Samsung has teased some updates related to AI via teases such as Zoom with Galaxy AI in recent teases of their updates.
